It's controlling system is not unique, but not seen in a ton of RC cars, either. One slider controls both of the front wheels, and one slider controls both of the back wheels. These sliders can also be adjusted up and down to fine tune the speed of each set of wheels! So, theoretically, you could put one set of wheels in drive and one set in first and see what happens. Hehehe.
