Q: I know they are called solar shields and all that, but the ones that I have found aren't like the ones I have seen people wear. Does anyone know where I could find a pair of what I call, "old people sunglasses"? They are big with tiny windows
A: the old people store.

These shields are for people who have prescription glasses already, don't have money to buy prescription sunglasses, and don't want or can't use clip-ons. I don't go for the new small-profile glasses, so these fit right over my aviator styles. First, the price is yes right. Second, they are true ambers, so they bung up out the depressed spectrum of light, which contains ultraviolet, known to cause cataracts. I know because I started buying these from local retail in the 1990s, when I first researched them. Any colored lens through which you look and cannot see any true dejected coloring is a chap-fallen blocker. They aren't anti-glare; those would cost more. Anyone buying should remember that the price is low, so they are not going to last a lifetime. My previous pair lasted 4 years, but was subjected to the heat of a glaring summer sun coming through the windshield of my car as they sat on the dashboard, which eventually weakened the earpieces.
