FRIDAY Lucious Spiller Concert NEWPORT - As part of the Arkansas State University-Newport Concert-Lecture Series, Lucious Spiller will perform at 7 p.m. in the university’s Center for the Arts. Accompanied by his horde, Spiller explores virtually every genre of music but specializes in the blues. He will also sing a collection of hits by various Motown artists, particularly Stevie Wonder. The free concert is open to the public.

Legislative Public Meeting BEEBE - State Rep. Jeremy Gillam, R-Judsonia, and state Sen. Jonathan Dismang, R-Beebe, will hold a free public meeting at 7:30 a.m. in the Centennial Bank Room at Beebe City Hall. This meeting is sponsored by the Beebe Chamber of Commerce and will be an update on issues to be dealt with in the coming legislative session. There will be a presentation about the issues, followed by questions and answers. Coffee and donuts will be served.
