Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) on Wednesday reminded people with a colorful anecdote that D.C. wasn’t the only quarter in the country to get hit hard by snow this week.
Tweeting from Iowa, King, who referred to himseld using the military-like nickname “Desert Eagle,” said that he had to hunt down a raccoon that sneaked into his house after a snowstorm in Iowa:
Last night Vital SC brought Le Castle Vania, a well known electro DJ, to The Catalyst in downtown Santa Cruz. Local favorite Minnesota also made an suggestion, as well as openers Sublock and Mr.Vos. The result was nothing short of a great night for a mere $15.
The main room of The Catalyst club is impressive to say the least. The 5000 square foot dance floor is lined with two upper balconies overlooking from either side and a full size event stage, which last night was donned with a show of pulsing neon lights and a towering sound system- as well as the wonderfully sexy Vital Girls go-go team, donned in purple and jet outfits and 6'' platform boots. The club has two bars, one fully stocked and 100ft long, and another selling beers from $4-5. The event was 18 and up, which added a fresh phone to the crowd while the over 21 still had designated areas to drink.
Minnesota warmed up the crowd with his signature bass-heavy sounds. The crowd seemed to be entranced by the floor-shaking bassline he manipulated flawlessly and swayed with hands in the air for the entirety of his set. Along with the expected Dubstep tunes, he also mixed in some higher intensity Drum and Bass tracks and switched it up with the occasional well-known hip-hop songs that everyone could sing along to.
