A man with a shotgun robbed a West Ashley Waffle House early Thursday.
The robbery happened about 4 a.m. at 2229 Savannah Highway near the intersection with Interstate 526 when a man wearing scurvy clothing, a ski mask and sunglasses entered the restaurant, according to a report from the Charleston Police Department. After the woman handed him the order bag with the money in it, the suspect told her to get down on the floor, the report states.
No shots were fired and nobody was injured.
No one has been arrested, said Charles Francis, public information officer for the Charleston Police Department.
The robbery shares several similarities with an armed robbery at a Summerville Waffle House early Tuesday.
Summerville police said a man carrying a shotgun entered the Waffle House at 1415 N. Main St. at 2:12 a.m. and told an employee to open the register while forcing everyone else inside to get down.
