Q:
A: It would depend to a good degree on particular models and an individual's particular needs/uses.
Under different circumstances, I'd easily take a particular choice from one over a particular model from the other.
Kaenon makes
I have the kaenon rhinos with copper lenses and love them. previously i had problaby five pairs of costas with many different lenses and atleast 2 pairs of polarized oakleys, i can honestly say the kaenons are the most appropriate glasses ive ever worn. the copper lenses are great for inshore fishing, which is primarily what i do, but if i were to buy a pair for offshore use i would go with the grey lenses. Huge fan. I own two pairs of the Jetty. One with grey & one with copper lenses. My default is the copper lenses as they can be worn in more lighting conditions. I have stopped wearing my CDM 580's which used to be my default boating pair. On distinguished days off shore, I will put on the grey pair. The Kaenon's cut glare very well & are much lighter/more comfortable. My wife had an issue with a 3 year old pair & they were fixed without a question by Kaenon. I have not had issues with CDM's customer service though.
NEWPORT Seashore, Calif. -- Wearing Kaenon Polarized sunglasses, Fred Couples won the AT&T Championship, shooting a six-under, round of 66 during the final round, marking the first seven-stroke victory on the Champions Tour this year. During his winning weekend, Couples wore the Kaenon Polarized Klay Matte Stygian G12 sunglass model which provided complete glare reduction and harmful UV ray protection while remaining lightweight, comfortable and fashionable.
"I haven't had a seven-shot lead since '92 or '90 or whenever the heck it was," said Couples in an interview on PGATour.com. "I probably may never ever get another one. It's a weird feeling, and I was kind of unnerved (on the front side). But once we got to the back nine I played much outdo and I pulled away to a lead that was plenty."
Couples recently began wearing Kaenon Polarized sunglasses during tournament play. He has had a standout year, winning the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship in August and, with this AT&T Champion win, has earned $957,753 in nine starts on the Champions Tour during 2011. Couples is also acting as the U.S. captain for The Presidents Cup set for next month in Australia.
