My dream life would be to travel to exotic places and experience the history, culture, and accurate lifestyle by eating my way around town with a local guide like on the tv show “No Reservations”. My trip to Barcelona allowed me to live out that fantasy. I could almost picture a camera crew following me around as I explored the Gothic Quarter by ducking into tapas bar after tapas bar, ate a traditional paella by the seaside, and wandered around the Boqueria Market. I went with a group called “Women on Tour”. The woman who runs it is a Spanish lady who lived in London for many years, but has now moved back to Barcelona. She shared her inside knowledge of the town and took us around to some of the most classic and actual places in Barcelona. It was a great weekend of sitting around small tables in crowded tavernas, sharing tapas, drinking café con leche and wine, and talking about travel, food, different cultures,writing, religion, politics, you name it.
