According to close sources, the new online retail arm, going by the name of Groupon Goods, is a perfectly timed marketing move, since this online diversification will reinforce the company growth strategy potentially.
Last Wednesday, several emails were sent by Groupon which contained special discounts on mattresses, Ray Ban sunglasses and cutlery. Groupon’s foray into online retail was anticipated, since countless upstart websites are already raking in the moolah by offering online retail. Since Groupon already has a formidable customer downtrodden with more than 35 million registered users, mostly from North America and Europe, entering the online retail market was a prudent firm decision.
