I've been watching a lot of VH-1 Classic lately and they show a lot of early videos from the days of MTV. One of the things that's struck me is how so many of the songs had some excellent guitar playing on them (e.g., "Maniac" by Michael Sembello and "Sunglasses At Night" by Corey Hart...both of these were huge pop hits at the time, but have largely been forgotten over the years). We tend to dwell on the "rock classics" and the well-known great rock guitarists, but don't seem to discuss other songs/guitarists as much. So, here's your chance...what are some of your favorite forgotten/obscure songs that have some nice guitar moments on them?

For me, the first songs that come to mind are all the great guitar solos from the '70's and '80's David Bowie songs i.e. Suffragette City, Rebel Rebel, Panic in Detroit, Diamond Dogs etc etc etc . For my money, Earl Slick has always been one of the most underrated...

Unfortunately the majority of those I've come across have been less than special and the primary school rule...
